Yo Buuten!
There's apparently new fancy oekaki board software out there, and I'm testing it over at oekaki.blkmkt.net/relaunch -- things seem to work a lil differently than they do with the old Wacintaki board. You can even draw in response to posts there! If it goes well, I'll move that software here. Maybe folks not needing to specifically make an account will encourage more casual drawing?
Thanks for being here at the oekaki, your work is always an encouraging presence over the years!

That's great to hear! Thanks, I'll be sure to pay it a visit

Just today I was thinking "man, I miss drawing on an oekaki I should revive mine again" and... looks like I did that already and forgot to follow through! Sorry folks! And thanks for coming back, Buuten, though I'm sure you've moved on long ago at this point, lol.

The world of social media is exhausting and I believe what they demand of me is a finite resource. It's unsustainable to try to live as an adult and continue the bad habits I've picked up trying to chase algorithms. Even with this sketch, I had to fight the urge to throw the sketch away, study to make sure I was drawing correctly, and to hold it in my ever lengthening sets of images I'll finish when I get good enough.
I made this oekaki because I wanted to go back to a simpler time, as we all do when we grow older, and I wanted to allow myself to just draw dumb stuff thats on my mind without making a big production of it. You, if you can see this, are welcome to do the same, as long as you keep it respectful. Let's see how it goes.

I'm so happy this place is back again.
